Abstract

Persistent edema of the face can be caused by a variety of diseases and several investigations, also including invasive methods, are needed for differential diagnosis. Chronic contact dermatitis is an easily overlooked cause of persistent edema, especially if there is no eczematous lesion in the clinical setting. We presented a case of persistent edema of the face caused by chronic contact dermatitis. Detailed history and patch test are important in differential diagnosis and can prevent carrying out lots of unnecessary and sometimes invasive examinations
